Art
I've been drawing practically since I've been alive to be honest.. like many things, my awful
brain
fog
doesn't let me know if I had any particular reason to latch onto drawing, but the earliest thing
I
can
think of that might
have influeced me was watching a show called Louie,
where
the
bunny main character.. yknow, draws stuff. No idea how or if that had an impact on me.
I started by just making up character designs (these ones
specifically) for fun, and then I did a lot of game fanart for a long time.
I started
drawing
digitally by using an app called "Tayasui sketches" in my first ever personal electronic device
- an
ipad mini. (it eventually hilariously broke while I, a dumb kid, was holding it while going down
the
stairs to our garage and let it fall down
the concrete steps, shattering the screen into a tiny billion pieces. tragic).
I don't remember
what
happened after that, I think I got another one that eventually started freaking out to the point
it
was
unusable, and then I got an android
tablet. At this point the tayasui app wasn't in the play store (or I never bothered to search
for it
back then) so I started
using Medibang Paint for a long while, and eventually moved to Krita, my beloved.
My first drawing tablet was a wacom intuos draw, then a huion h-something and my current
one, a
huion HS64 pro v2.
None of them gave me much issue all these years. My current huion was bought for being bigger
and
having
tilt controls, though it is big in an annoying way that the wacom isn't because there's this
huge
border around the actual drawing area that occupies a lot of space. I wish it had rotation
controls
as well..
Anyways. I don't really draw much nowadays because I keep turning my attention to other
projects
and I've also felt really disconnected from the creative process as a whole (chronic depression
doesn't help much in this case). I've gotten really sick of the 'coming up with an idea' part,
and
it feels like everything has been done already to the point that it's like, why bother...
I know
that's not the right way to think about it and that these feelings are not correct, but theres
something wrong that I really can't shake off about it. But I do draw sometimes hehe.. I hope
people
enjoy how I've managed to catalogue pretty much everything I've ever drawn, even the bad and
cringy
ones, in my gallery. Too bad I don't have the same output I did back then.. ah well
